1st Panhellenic Open Robotics Competition

The 1st Panhellenic Open Robotics Competition is organized by the Open Technologies Alliance (GFOSS), the University of West Attica, the Greek Computer Society, the Computer Technology Institute “Diophantus”, the University of the Aegean, the University of Western Macedonia, the University of Thessaly, the University of Ioannina, the Technical University of Crete, the University of Cyprus, the Technological Educational Institute of Crete, the University of Patras, the University of the Peloponnese, the Hellenic Air Force Academy, the National Research Foundation, the National Documentation Center, the Eastern Macedonia and Thrace Institute of Technology the Technological Educational Institute of Central Macedonia, the Technological Institution of Western Macedonia, the Technological Educational Institute of the Ionian Islands, the Technological Educational Institute of Peloponnese, the Technological Educational Institute of Central Greece, GUnet , the Greek School Network , the Eugenides Foundation, the Informatics Union of Greece, the Association for the use of ICT in Education, the Hellenic STEM Education Society, the Informatics Business Association of Northern Greece and more than 80 teachers from primary and secondary schools from all regions of Greece.

The competition has been organized with the aim to mobilize teachers and students of elementary and secondary schools to collaborate on open technologies projects. The organizing committee consists of academics and teachers from all regions of Greece.

The Panhellenic Open Robotics competition aims to introduce to the learners open source software and hardware and encourage them to develop their resourcefulness and initiative. At the same time, it aims to cultivate to the learners the usefulness of the use of open source software, and open educational content, for enabling the cooperation between teachers and students.

The main aim of competition is the creation of open-source hardware and software (Open Design, Open Software & Open Hardware), and the production of relevant open educational resources. Topics can include automation, lighting-sound, environmental sensors, smart objects, early warning devices, stand-alone vehicles, warehouses, entertainment applications, health-wellness, laboratory equipment, educational and educational applications, and IoT applications. (eg Open source robotics, openrobot-hardware, etc.).
